Two new games from today:

Webchess: an online web chessgame for 2 players.
Solar Imperium: a nice turnbased online empire balancing game which is more difficult than it sounds!

Solar Imperium is another webinterface game which was based upon the old style BBS portal games (in this case Solar Realms Elite).

It is a turn based balancing game (the 1st game has 30 turns per day) in which you have to balance your empire to make it grow: economy, military, tourism, production, pollution etc. Take it from me: it isn't as easy as it sounds: I lost my first 3 empires when trying to figure out how to play this game.
And to make it more fun: you are only protected the 1st day. After that you can start attacking other empires.

We finally got our own player versus player WebChess game

This version works only when both players are online and logged into the chess interface.

We do have another chess game we are investigating which includes a tournament mode...

LoGD has been retuned:
- it has now a beginner's island (Isle of Wren) with extra forest turns and where you are immediately resurrected should you die.
- 5 new races become available after you have slain your first dragon,
- numerous forest surprises,
- 3 special side quests,
- 7 new cities are available when you leave the Isle of Wren
- PVP (Player versus Player) mode has been enabled.

Sorry for the interruption when the game was down.

The game is now up and running. I have expanded the cities, the races, the forest events. A beginner's island (isle of Wren) is now active: beware that once you leave the island, you will never come back.

I am currently looking at and testing about 400 modules. The best or most interesting will gradually seep into this setup.

Some extra details about our game setup:

6 game days per day (meaning you have new turns every four hours)
20 forest turns
3 moons
a crazy calender
4 different races
lots of little coincidental surprises
a surprisingly familiarÂ Death Lord
some of the forest monsters are hilariously funny
if you can slay the dragon, a statue will be erected in the vilage square (until someone else vanquishes the dragon),
outhouse available in the forest
free healing for level 1 players
the bank will give you interest on your deposits
daily lottery
drinks and songs in the local pub
an ingame tutor which you can turn off if you feel familiar enough with the game
PVP (player versus player) will be enabled once there are more than 50 players.

To give you some examples of the forest monsters:
- You have encountered Deranged Gnome which lunges at you with A Cloth Draped Mirror!
- You have encountered Bar Fly which lunges at you with Alcoholism!
- You have encountered Enchanted Toilet which lunges at you with Ninja Flushing Action!
- You have encountered Violins which lunges at you with Off-Key notes!
- You have encountered Pirate Tree which lunges at you with A loud ARRRRR!!
- You have encountered Humongous Hairball which lunges at you with Incredible Drain-Clogging Power!
- You have encountered Shining Happy People which lunges at you with Hand Holding Terror!
- You have encountered Undead Kitten which lunges at you with Mews of Doom!
- You have encountered Society Belle which lunges at you with Southern Charm!
- You have encountered Someone's Grandfather which lunges at you with Stories that go nowhere!

The next new game is one I am very proud to be adding to our little game collection:
The Legend of the Green Dragon.

For those who remember an old BBS name called Legend of the Red Dragon, this is the open source webgame version.

I have chosen for a standard installation with a lot (but not all) of the extensions installed and activated. We will probably be adding new locations and adventures as more people play this wonderful adventure. The fun part is that there is no shame in dying in this game: the adventure will continue in a slightly different form until you can convince the Lord of Death (who is a surprisingly familiar name) to restore life to you.

There are more than 300 other modules and variations available, so please be patient. If you are familiar with this game and you know of some interesting modules, feel free to recommend them any time. We will check them out, test them and if they are fun, install them here.

Dragon Knight is a very basic adventure RPG of the "grinding" variation, meaning you have to slay a lot of monsters to get the necessary gold to buy new stuff.

The game is quite simple:

you start in midworld
in each town you find an inn where you can rest and restore your health for a price, as well as 2 stores where you can buy maps to other cities (for fast travelling), weapons, armour and shield.
by exploring the world, you encounter at random some monsters (on average 1 for every 10 steps you make). Some monsters drop useful items you can equip.
for each slain monster you get extra experience (XP). Once you have enough XP, you gain a level, more HP and XP
the game has its own mini forum

And that's it basicly.
